Richard Hornby – Managing Partner
Richard Hornby is our Managing Partner. He qualified in 1983, joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner the following year. Richard has extensive experience in the broad spectrum of property work generally but now these days with something of an emphasis on Commercial Conveyancing, Landlord & Tenant matters and Equity Release. Outside of the office he is heavily involved with his local rugby club.
Howard Smith – Partner
Howard Smith joined the firm in 1987, qualified in 1990 and became a Partner in 2001. He specialises in Civil Litigation, Commercial and Property Disputes, Family Law, Employment Law and legal spats and squabbles generally. He has represented clients in most courts and tribunals imaginable, from magistrates and county courts, to the Court of Appeal, the House of Lords (as it then was) and the European Court of Human Rights. Outside of the office, when not distracted by the increasing demands of his three children, he is an avid sports and music fan.
Simon Glick – Partner
Simon trained in a leading Legal500 practice and qualified in 2002. He joined the firm as an assistant solicitor immediately on qualification and is now a Partner in the firm. Simon deals with a broad spectrum of property work generally, with an increasing emphasis on Commercial Property, Estate Development and Leasehold Enfranchisement. He holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Commercial Property Law.
Grazyna Scotford
Grazyna qualified in 1998 and joined the firm as an assistant solicitor in 2003. She deals with Tax Planning, Probate matters, Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney. She speaks Polish fluently and is a full member of STEP, The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Karin Keeble
We were pleased to welcome Karin to the firm in 2014. She brings exceptional experience, having been a qualified solicitor since 1996. Karin is another of our property experts and is fluent in German.
Our Other Legal Staff
Jacqueline Reid
Jacqueline joined the firm in June 2022 and she is a Civil Litigation Chartered Legal Executive. Jacqueline has wide civil litigation experience gained at in-house and private practice positions. She has previously worked at Financial Ombudsman Service, City of London Corporation and for HM Coroner. In addition, Jacqueline is a Fellow Chartered Legal Executive & CMC Associate Mediator.
Tracy Bennett
Tracy is a senior conveyancer and works predominantly on residential sales and purchases. She has worked with us since 2006, and so she has a wealth of expertise and experience in property matters.
Liz Latimer – Practice Manager
We are delighted that Liz re-joined the firm as Practice Manager and Head of Accounts in November 2020, having previously worked with us for a number of years. She brings a wealth of experience and certainty in financial management and control.
